Greek-Managed Tanker Carrying Saudi Crude Passes Through Strait of Hormuz

Reuters, citing ship tracking analysis from Kepler and Lloyd's List Intelligence, reported that on Monday (March 9), a tanker managed by a Greek company carrying Saudi Arabian crude oil bound for India passed through the Strait of Hormuz. Amid the US-Israel war against the Islamic Republic, hundreds of ships remain anchored on both sides of the strait, and oil and shipping markets are watching for any sign of improved movement through this vital waterway, through which a large portion of the world's oil passes. MarineTraffic data shows the "Shinlong Suezmax" tanker, with a capacity of one million barrels, loaded at Saudi Arabia's Ras Tanura port. According to the data, the ship's last recorded position on March 8 was inside the Strait of Hormuz, and it subsequently updated its destination to Mumbai, India. Reuters noted that Dynacom, the Athens-based operator of the vessel, has not yet responded to requests for comment.
