White House: Vance to Lead US Negotiating Team in Iran Talks; First Round Saturday in Islamabad
The White House spokesperson announced on Wednesday that JD Vance, the US Vice President, will lead the US negotiating team in talks with Iran, and the first round of these negotiations will be held on Saturday morning, April 12 (22 Farvardin) in the Pakistani capital.
Caroline Leavitt said at a press conference that Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, Donald Trump’s representatives, will also participate in these negotiations.
These negotiations follow the ceasefire agreement between Iran and the US that was brokered by Pakistan from the early hours of Wednesday.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has not yet officially introduced its negotiators, but some media outlets have reported that Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, will be Iran’s senior representative in these negotiations.
