UK RAF Typhoons Destroy Drone Over Jordan, Intercept Another Heading to Bahrain; Wildcats and Merlin Deployed

The UK Ministry of Defence announced that Royal Air Force Typhoon jets, in a nighttime operation, destroyed an unmanned aerial vehicle in defense of Jordan and intercepted a drone that was heading toward Bahrain. The ministry statement said Britain has also begun defensive air patrols in support of the United Arab Emirates. According to the report, London has deployed additional air operations experts to the Persian Gulf region to strengthen defensive operations, in order to provide a clearer air picture of the region and help regional partners manage their airspace. The UK Ministry of Defence also announced that Wildcat helicopters have arrived at British bases in Cyprus to support defensive operations in the region, and a Merlin helicopter has been deployed to enhance aerial threat detection capability.
