Trump: War With Iran Is "Almost Completely Over" — No Navy, No Air Force, No Communications
In a phone interview with CBS News, President Donald Trump said the war with the Islamic Republic may end soon. "I think the war is almost completely over. They no longer have a navy, their communications are down, and they don't have an air force," Trump said. He added that the US is moving "much ahead" of the initial four-to-five week projected timeline.
When asked about Iran's new leader Mojtaba Khamenei — whom Trump had previously publicly criticized — Trump replied: "I have no message for him. None." According to the CBS reporter, Trump said he has someone in mind to replace Khamenei but offered no further details.
On the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said ships are currently passing through it, but that he is "thinking about taking control of it."
Trump also warned the Islamic Republic: "They've fired everything they had and they better not do anything special, or it will be the end of that country."
