President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social on Friday, March 20, 2026, stating: "We will protect our allies in the Middle East at the highest level, including Israel, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Kuwait." Trump also addressed the Strait of Hormuz, adding: "The strait must be protected and controlled, if necessary, by countries that use it. The United States does not use it." He stressed: "If requested, we will assist these countries in their efforts to secure the strait, but after the Iranian threat is removed, this should not be necessary," adding, "For them, it will be an easy military operation."
