Trump Says He Is "Very Optimistic" About Peace Deal With Iran, Warns of "Very Painful" Consequences If Rejected

U.S. President Donald Trump said Thursday in a phone interview with NBC News that he is "very optimistic" about reaching a peace agreement with the Islamic Republic. Trump said: "Iran's leaders speak very differently in meetings than what they say to the media; they are much more reasonable in negotiations. They agree with everything they need to. Don't forget they have been defeated and no longer have military power." He also warned: "If they don't agree to a deal, very painful conditions await them."
