US President Donald Trump confirmed in an interview with the New York Post that his administration is engaged with Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, and has given Tehran only one week to decide on cooperating with the United States. Trump said: "We'll see... I'll let you know in about a week." Trump, alluding to the possibility of escalating military action, warned that if no deal is reached in the short term, the US may target Iran's critical energy infrastructure, including power plants, oil fields, and major facilities. He also claimed that Iran's power structure has undergone fundamental changes, with new figures managing affairs who, in his words, act more "rationally" than before.
