Images Show Damage to Chehel Sotoun Palace in Isfahan Following Strike on Governorate Building
Iranian domestic media published images showing damage to the Chehel Sotoun (Forty Columns) palace following the attack on the Isfahan Governorate building on 18 Esfand 1404 (March 9, 2026).
The images show broken windows and damage to the ceiling, windows, and glass panels of the historic palace. A released video also shows cracks on walls and paintings, though when compared to previous images, some of these cracks appear to have pre-existed.
The Isfahan Governorate building is located near the city's historic district. It has been reported that Isfahan was subjected to heavy attacks from the early morning hours of 18 Esfand and throughout the day.
