France Denies Plans to Deploy Warships to Strait of Hormuz

The French Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Paris has no plans to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz. The ministry's official accountability account on X social network, responding to reports about the possible deployment of French warships, wrote: "No. The French aircraft carrier strike group remains deployed in the eastern Mediterranean." The message emphasized that France's military stance has not changed and the mission of its forces is "defensive and protective." The account also criticized what it called "scaremongering." This response came after Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he hoped countries such as the UK, China, France, and others would send warships to keep the shipping lane through the Strait of Hormuz open.
