Bushehr's Persian Gulf Martyrs Hospital Heavily Damaged, Taken Out of Service After Nearby Strike
Local officials in Bushehr, southwestern Iran, say the Shohada-ye Khalij-e Fars (Persian Gulf Martyrs) Hospital has suffered "heavy damage" and is currently "out of service" following an attack near the hospital. The hospital reportedly has 280 beds. Allah-karam Akhlaqi, head of Bushehr University of Medical Sciences, said the intensity of the explosions was such that parts of the buildings and equipment were damaged, making it impossible to continue operations at this center for now. Iranian media had reported explosions in Bushehr in recent hours. Iran says at least 9 of its hospitals have been damaged since the start of the conflict, with major damage reported in some cases.
